Train consistently and smart. Run some local races and hope to lower PR's every once in awhile.

I would love to see a 5:XX for a mile just one more time. Go under 20 in a 5K. And a sub 40 for a 10K.

Disaster Strikes !

Started my run off and the calf was a little tighter than yesterday. But I figured to give it a few minutes to warm up and it might feel ok. After 1 mile it was not any better, but not any worse either. But to be safe I decided to cut the run short and only do 4 miles. After 2 miles it felt the same as the 1st. 3rd mile I guess I drifted off and daydreamed or something and did not notice it at all. 4th mile it started to hurt more. I slowed some until I was finished. When I was done I was limping, and still am. It really hurts. I took a warm shower and iced it too. Tried to stretch it some, but it hurt so I stopped.

I hope this is short term. Looks like I will be swimming a lot more in the next few days. I will try the exercise bike at the gym too. But I do not know if that will aggravate it more or not.

4 miles - 8:05, 8:08, 7:57, 8:21 - 32:33 - 8:08 avg.

Funny thing is I felt fresh and wanted to GO some today. Oh well, maybe in a couple of weeks.

Take good care of the calf. At least it is a muscle problem and not tendon or ligament. Muscles can be rested and strengthened.

Glad to see you have to swim and bike. At least you have good cross training to keep your fitness up.

Hopefully this will not last too long. Just pushed it a little too much I guess last week on the run after my long run.
