My quads are still sore from Saturday, which surprises me. Going downhill is not fun. I ran to the pool after work (2.1miles). Then swam 1000 yards. I had not been to the pool in almost 2 weeks and was glad to smell the chlorine again. I swam a relaxed pace. I did not want to over do it since I had been away so long. And I still had more running to do afterwards. After the pool I ran 5 miles. The pace felt very good. It would have been great if not for the sore quads. I truly feel my relaxed pace had decreased by about 10 seconds per mile. I hope that is a sign of better overall fitness. Run - 2.1 miles - 8:04, 7:54, :48 - 16:48 - 8:00 avg. Swim - 1000 yards free/breast mix - 19:35 Run - 5 miles - 7:50, 7:58, 7:44, 7:52, 7:41 - 39:07 - 7:49 avg.
