Short-Term Running Goals:

Train consistently and smart. Run some local races and hope to lower PR's every once in awhile.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I would love to see a 5:XX for a mile just one more time. Go under 20 in a 5K. And a sub 40 for a 10K.

Quads were sore this morning, but not tight.  Legs were not tired either.  But it would have been nice not to have had the soreness.  Just trying to pile on too many miles for all the missed ones recently.  Not a good idea ...I know.  Morning humidity was high as usual.  And my shoes still had some wet spots from yesterday's run.  I have them sitting in front of the refrigerator now hoping they will be dry before my evening run.

Legs still sore on tonight's run.  And started to tire on the last few miles.  Tomorrow will be an easier day for sure.

The longest toe, or the one next to my big toe, on my right foot has been sensitive the last few days.  But no sign of blood building under the nail.  But finally after tonight's run there was a hint of purple.  Hopefully it will get a little darker so I will know exactly where to plunge the needle and reduce the pressure.  Why this makes me happy I do not know.

How many pairs of shoes do you have, Scott? Just one pair? Or do you rotate pairs? I would highly recommend, if you are not already, rotating at least 2 pairs of shoes. This gives the first pair a day to recover and dry out while you can continue running in the other pair. Personally, I have a more cushioned pair (ProGrid Guides) and a more lightweight, performance-based pair (Grid Tangent 3's). I alternate between the two to get my feel used to the Tangents for running races.

I must admit I only use one pair at a time until I have worn them out. Trying to convince my wife is already hard enough that my shoes are worn out when they still "look" good after 500 miles.

When this pair is done, I might get 2 pair at the same time.

One day I might just get all this running stuff right.

Glad to read your calf is doing better.

13 mile day. That is a lot of shoe tread to burn in one day. I have my first purple nail. My daughters think I got it painted.
