Train consistently and smart. Run some local races and hope to lower PR's every once in awhile.

I would love to see a 5:XX for a mile just one more time. Go under 20 in a 5K. And a sub 40 for a 10K.

Got off work at 8am.  In bed at 9am and up at 1pm.  4 hours is not a lot of sleep.  But I am attempting a crash attempt at readjusting to a normal person's life schedule.  Ashleigh and the kids were home when I woke up.  We are headed on our family Summer vacation tomorrow and there was plenty to do today.  And yes honey, if you read this, I realize you did most of the work to get us all ready.  I ran by feel tonight, and I felt like taking it easy.  My legs feel a little trashed from the last two runs.  I hope I can get a run in sometime tomorrow night to make it 50 for this week.

It should be a fun week at the beach.  We are going to Nags Head, NC.  This is the same area as the marathon I will attempt this Fall.  I hope to get good look at the course and run some of it as well.

So you are planning to run the OBX marathon this November. That's wonderful! Do you have a target pace or are you going to see how training goes and decide on it closer to the race?

Enjoy your vacation!

Arie,

Sorry for the delay on the response. Yes, I am planning on running my first marathon this Fall. As for a target pace...I have no idea. I am smart enough to know my training has not been very marathon specific and it has been sporadic at times too. My ultimate goal is to complete it. Then I will have satisfied my curiosity of running a marathon. I have no idea if I will ever try another one or not. I did the same thing a couple of years ago. I completed my 1 and only triathlon. I loved it, but I am not sure if I will ever do one again or not.
