Train consistently and smart. Run some local races and hope to lower PR's every once in awhile.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I would love to see a 5:XX for a mile just one more time. Go under 20 in a 5K. And a sub 40 for a 10K.

Legs still sore.  Quads ached quite a bit.  Shin area still hurting today, as it did the last 2 days.  I would say though the last 3 miles it had diminished to the point I did not notice it.  But the quads hurt the whole time.  Again kept it easy today.  Cardio felt pretty good.  Hardly breathing most of the run.

You had some serious mileage this week, Scott! Looking really consistent despite feeling the soreness! You have any races planned?

Yes, I have my very first Marathon coming up next month. I already know my training has not been very marathon specific, but that's ok. I am just trying to complete rather than compete. But I have a 10K in my town at the end of November I will run hard in. It is the only race in our area. So I really want to make a good showing.

And good job on your running. You have all Winter to work on your base. Then you can start racing again in the Spring.

Thanks for all the encouragement again, Scott. :)

Ooo 10k in November will be a very good race for you! Especially with so many runs longer than that race distance! As far as your marathon goal.. that's my goal too for when I start running again. I would rather complete races pain free than to push too hard and get reinjured.
