Went to the pool/gym today. Had not swam in a few weeks I guess. So I just went by feel. I wanted to do enough to feel like a workout, but not so much I was wore out. Swam 1800 yards (1.02 mile). Started with 400 free. Then 1000 free / breast mix. I alternated strokes every 100 yards. Then finished with another 400 free. Next was the AirDyne. Took my time on this as well. Legs started to feel it at 8 miles. But my heart was pumping and I got the chance to sweat as well. A couple of hours later went out for a 6 mile run. Felt good on the run. Ran by feel.

Swim - 400 free - 7:12 / 1000 free/breast - 18:37 / 400 free - 7:19

Total Swim - 1.02(1800yds) - 33:08

AirDyne - 10 miles - 35:32

Run - 6.03 - 8:08, 7:50, 7:50, 7:53, 7:57, 7:59, :13 - 47:52 - 7:56 avg.

Total for Day - 17.05 / 1:56:32

I have a 25 meter pool.

Since I have been so close to 60 seconds, I let my watch keep track of my time.

I have a bear of a time keeping track on the 25 yard pool (sometimes they flip the direction of the pool to 25 yrs). I like to do splits at 200 meters so then I do 9 lengths and then clock it. That keeps me on if I get off.

You seem to be a great swimmer, if you got a indoor bike trainer and put in the base miles, you could be a pretty good triathlete. You would not have to run so much and then you injuries would not be as much of an issue. Biking is much easier on your body than running. Your run times are quite comparable to most triathletes. But if you are in exercising for fitness instead of winning, then it could be a great venue for you.

I have thought about doing another triathlon. But on the only other one I did, I was very non-competitive on the bike portion.

That was swam in a pool. I have wondered about trying one with an open water swim. But I have never trained outside of a pool.
